How Much Do Mortuary Coolers Cost? American Market Prices Explained

actors Influencing Price:

  • Size and Capacity:
    • Single-body coolers will naturally be less expensive than walk-in units capable of holding multiple bodies.
    • Walk-in coolers, especially those with larger dimensions, see a substantial increase in price.
  • Features and Specifications:
    • Specialized features like digital temperature controls, alarm systems, and specific racking systems add to the cost.
    • Materials used in construction and the quality of the refrigeration system also play a role.
  • Manufacturer and Supplier:
    • Different manufacturers and suppliers offer varying price points.
    • American-made units may have different pricing than those imported.
  • Installation and Delivery:
    • Delivery and installation costs can add a significant amount to the overall price.

General Price Range:

  • Based on information gathered, you can expect the following general price ranges:
    • Smaller, single or few body coolers can range from several thousand dollars.
    • Larger, walk-in mortuary coolers can range from $10,000 to $20,000 or even more, depending on size and features.
  • To get very accurate up to date pricing, it is best to contact mortuary cooler suppliers directly. Sites such as American Mortuary Coolers, and Ward's Transport and Supplies, provide pricing on their websites.

Key Considerations:

  • When budgeting for a mortuary cooler, it's crucial to consider not only the initial purchase price but also ongoing operating costs, such as energy consumption and maintenance.
  • It is also very important to check on any local regulations that may effect the type of cooler that is needed.
